Ben Duckett Stars For Notts In Warwickshire Draw
Ben Duckett produced one of the best batting performances of the County Championship season to date with a double century as Nottinghamshire picked up a draw with Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Although games were played for many years before hand, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club was officially founded in the 1840s, with the club going on to be a member of the County Championship from its foundation in 1890.
County champions six times, the club plays at the iconic Trent Bridge ground in West Bridgford, which is widely regarded as one of the most famous cricket grounds in the world. As well as being home to the club, the ground has hosted countless international games and was the scene of Stuart Broad's iconic performance against Australia in the 2015 Ashes - when he took 8-15 to skittle the Aussies out for just 60 runs.
With both the club and the ground being so important to the whole county of Nottinghamshire, we're proud to be a part of it.
Off the pitch, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club has a firm commitment to its local community, with a mission to engage young people through various sporting and academic programmes.
We are delighted to work in conjunction with the club on a range of programmes that encourage young people to get involved in sport.
Trent Bridge is not only an iconic sporting venue, but also an important community hub for various groups - such as the Forget Me Notts support group.
The group helps people living with dementia and their carers, as well as individuals experiencing loneliness. Sessions are often held at the ground, with the venue acting as a catalyst for people to discuss their sporting memories.
We are delighted to be able to play our part in such important initiatives, alongside the Forget Me Notts group.
